Whether you're a therapist, coach, healthcare professional, social worker, teacher, or HR professional, this course gives you practical, ethical guidance grounded in the realities of your work.

Written and taught by a chartered psychologist and software engineer, it gives you everything you need to use AI confidently, safely, and ethically in your professional practice. We start from the very basics, so you don't need any prior knowledge of AI to get started.

You will learn:

• How to use AI for research, formulation, report writing, note-taking, and summarising documents
• How to craft effective prompts to get useful, reliable output
• How to navigate ethical issues such as competence, privacy, hallucinations, bias and deskilling
• How to run AI locally so client data never leaves your computer

We also cover territory that most AI courses ignore entirely: what to do when your clients are using AI. Whether a client arrives with a ChatGPT formulation, uses AI for reassurance between sessions, or has developed an unhealthy relationship with an AI companion, you will know how to respond.

By the end of the course, you will be able to use AI as a skilled professional assistant while keeping your clinical judgement, your ethics, and your clients' wellbeing at the centre of your practice.

About Level 2

Level 2 is an introductory level qualification suitable for all. They typically do not require prior experience and will take 6-12 weeks to complete based on studying one module per week. See the course description for information specific to this course.

Meet your instructor

Chris Worfolk

Chris is a psychologist and teacher. He holds an MSc in Psychology (Conversion) from Leeds Beckett University and is a Graduate Member of the British Psychological Society.

Chris is the author of multiple books including Do More, Worry Less. He ie the founder the of mental health charity Anxiety Leeds and is co-owner of the Leeds Anxiety Clinic.
